Extracurricular Activities

President Berman also serves his community beyond campus in a number of leadership roles.  He serves on the Commission on Advancement of Racial & Ethnic Equality of the American Council on Education, as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Westchester County Health Care Corporation, and as Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Westchester Jewish Chronicle. He is also Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Seeds of Peace and a Member of the Board of EmblemHealth (HIP).

For his passionate commitment to public service, Berman has been the recipient of many awards and honors from organizations such as African American Men of Westchester, the Westchester County Association, National Conference of Christians and Jews, LATYN (Latino Administrators, Teachers and CSEA of Yonkers), and the Holy Name Society.
