Networking Leads Students to MTV’s Video Music Awards

Anyone thinking that getting involved and meeting people isn’t important at college, should ask Manhattanville College’s Kimberly Garrick ’17 and Shanice Peters ’17, who by getting involved with Manhattanville’s chapter of Her Campus, worked the red carpet at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. The two students ran the national Snapchat account for Her Campus live from the VMAs.

Peters notes that her journalism classes at Manhattanville have prepared her well for the opportunity. “The professors share their experiences in the field and tie it in with your class. You're getting the real world advice you need to make it in the world of journalism.”
